So how's everyone doing on the commit to get fit adventure (read the invitation here)?! I started week 3 of my weight training program and all is going well so far. Today was strength work on chest, shoulders, and biceps (STS DVD #7). It felt really HARD today! So many pushups!! OY! I did all of them on my knees because I know better than to even try them on toes when Cathe and STS are involved... especially the muscle endurance portion which is the first 12 discs (called Mesocycle 1 in the STS program). I am able to do them on my toes otherwise but not with ~30 other exercises in the same hour and only 10-30 seconds rest between them. And did I mention how MANY there were?! Sheesh! My arms are jello right now.
I'm looking forward to starting another journey in a little over a week ... maybe I'm using this current strength rotation as my warm up. ;-) My online Wellness Journey class starts soon. Registration is now open and I can't wait to meet up in the forums and get to know everyone. I still speak regularly with many people that are WJ alumni... a few are taking it again so I am especially looking forward to our daily check-ins to reconnect again. I love spending the first two months of the year focusing on wellness and helping others do the same. Truly good stuff!!
Gotta go and get ready to teach my final free yoga class (that makes 8 volunteer teaching hours). There will not be a whole lot of moves today requiring upper body strength because I just won't even be able to demonstrate anything. Lots of standing poses coming right up!
Here are some photos from last week when we had our first real snow of the season:
Mike and I hanging out on our bench soaking it all in together... feeling so grateful for all that we are blessed with.
I forgot how much fun it is to be taken for a sled ride!!! Thanks Mike!
