My counters are sufficiently covered in floor (and if we're being entirely honest, so are my clothes and the kitchen floor). The Tartines loaves are back. I made the whole wheat ones which use 700g of whole wheat flour to 300g white.
This was after the slashing but before the first loaf went into the oven. Somehow I forgot to take a photo of the two loaves when they came out of the oven.... Probably because I was in the middle of watching Veep at the time. But I made sure slow down long enough to listen to my crust SING (no, it never gets old) and get a sourdough facial (when you put your face so close to the bread, right after it comes out of the oven to hear the crust crackle, that you essential get a face steam in the process).
I did take a photo of me eating a slice this morning at breakfast:
I topped a small slice with avocado and a teeny bit of salt and pepper. That glass contains a delicious peach orange cinnamon almond butter smoothie that Jessi made for us all this morning. I'm so lucky!
This week has me feeling under the weather and a bit overwhelmed. I can't seem to focus and my workouts are non-existent (I spent Monday in bed... though I am teaching my yoga classes). I feel as if I'm on the upswing of things but still feeling stressed and that I'm not able to do what I want to do because some other things are taking up too much time. I'm going to need to practice saying no more often. So what to do when your stressed? Tackle a pantry re-org that I had been meaning to do for a while. Sure, why not do something completely unnecessary just to feel like I have some control over things and because, hey, glass jars are pretty.
Here's a look at the before:
The shelf to pay attention to is the second one from the top. You'll have to come back tomorrow to see what it looks like now. Sorry for the teaser but I forgot to take an "after" photo. I promise to take one tomorrow in between my volunteer commitments (no bike ride out on the trail tomorrow <
By the way, I'm testing this out and trying to post this from Blogsy so I hope it works!
