I needed an orange juice-based smoothie this morning and still wanted blueberries.
3 cups fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 cup pineapple chunks (I had some leftover from the fridge with all the juice that accumulated in the container)
1/2 cup strawberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
3 tbsp honey almond butter
1 tsp ground flaxseed
I didn't add any greens... but I *should* have. I'm just not feeling so good this morning and it was one more step that I couldn't muster up the energy for. I'm counting on this fruit-filled smoothie to heal and revitalize me. (I was up too early today and couldn't go back to sleep. Bleh! A cold from last week lingers.) That may be asking a lot from a smoothie but I'm going with it. The icy cold already feels better on my sore throat so I'm hopeful!
Yesterday was full of awesomeness and celebrating and mingling with friends, old and new. I was wowed by a group of ~10-11 year old musicians who can really ROCK! I ate entirely too much food. I danced with my man on the dance floor (the deal went down like this: if I am wearing make-up - a once or twice a year occurrence, you need to dance with me - a once a decade occurrence) . I love a good party and yesterday we had the good fortune to attend two! Life is at its best when you feel the optimism that comes when great young people in our community begin a new chapter in their journey. I wish them the best of luck and looking forward to all the greatness they will surely experience and bring into this world!
