Breakfast al fresco. I sauteed some asparagus and then topped it with a garlic chive scrambled egg along with a creamy green smoothie (OJ, frozen peaches, rolled oats, spinach) and ate breakfast on my front porch while watching my son ride a skateboard for the first time.
There were lots of false starts and falls but that's what all the pads, wrist guards, and helmets are for. He practiced for a few hours and made big improvements already. He took a few breaks to watch some skateboarding videos and then went out and tried some more.
Next up: getting him a pair of skateboard shoes for more stability.
It looked like so much fun that I'm tempted to get myself a skateboard too!
I was able to get in a good lower body workout (Trisets Lower Body) and then it was time for lunch. We made banana almond butter quesadillas with lots of cinnamon. Oh so good! Somehow heating up the ingredients and that crispy crunch of the tortilla crust elevates this to something special even though these are simple ingredients. Try it if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed.
Some cherries on the side are oh so good too!
I think we'll be doing this tomorrow too!
Now I'm back on my front porch watching Ryan skateboard with one of our neighbors, there are four butterflies fluttering around on the daisies, and fresh pretzels are almost ready to come out of the oven. The summer is off to a great start.
