Pizza Friday was modified to be Pizza Saturday this week due to some scheduling issues. I still HAD to get a pizza night in. I can't resist the crisp crackle of crust. I used Lahey's My Pizza pizza dough with 50% whole-wheat flour, 50% all purpose, a doubling of yeast (to accommodate for the WW) and a long fermentation on the counter (it wasn't quite 16 hours but it was close). I topped mine with homemade tomato sauce, finely chopped broccoli/cauliflower/artichoke hearts, shredded mozzarella, and grated Parm Reg cheeses. When it came out of the oven I sprinkled on torn fresh basil (not pictured).
Here's last week's new wine additions (we haven't tried either of them yet):
*2011 Apothic White (a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling, and Moscato)
*2009 Montebuena Rioja (Tempranillo blend)
I'm happy to say that I'm back on track with my French studies and moving right along with Coffee Break French (best podcast ever!! I'm on Lesson 66 and have added to my Anki digital/mobile flash card deck). This and a kick-butt kickboxing workout is just what was needed to start the week off right. That trip to the mall yesterday? I could've done without. Ditto on needing to bring my car in unexpectedly. But it all good... it could've been way worse.
The kids are out of school today and some of us are feeling a bit under the weather, others are getting into sweats and going to hop on a heating pad to stay warm. Then its time to catch up on The Great Food Truck Race together.
