We have a completed Funked Out Peasant Top!!
Holy cow... I made that!
This zipper is totally unnecessary for me and if I sew this again I won't include it, which will make this much easier to make. If I can figure out how to alter the pattern, I'd like to make this top shorter and adjust the bottom to flair out a little more. Just a personal preference. I'd also like to try to add elastic to the back, as mentioned in one of the options. It poufs out a bit in the back more than I'd like (for those that have boobs in the back too ???) and I'd love to figure that adjustment out as well, but I know I have my limitations.
I forgot to mention that I SERGED the seams (well the ones that I remembered to... The first one I missed, but all the rest have that nice polished feel)!!!
I love making stuff.
Here are some more detail shots.
Man, winter sure is making my skin crocodile-ish. As soon as I'm done I'm slathering some goopy hand salve on to remedy this!
This top is the first time I've sewn with elastic thread. That was so much fun seeing the sleeves bunch up a bit as I sewed. So! Cool! Or should I be corny and say SEW COOL!? Yes, you knew I would have to do that.
