I named this painting Transition because I painted these using Golden Open Acrylics. I've been getting frustrated with the sticky feeling that I get with acrylics when things are starting to dry and I'm still wanting to add more paint. I am loving the extended open time on these open acrylics and my limited palette (since I don't have as much of these) and feel like I may be transitioning to oils. I love the additional blendability that I can achieve. Once I get passed the part of the possibly burning my house down just from having linseed oil rags laying around, I think I'll be good to go and I may not want to look back. Of course, I have too many acrylic painting supplies to abandon it completely but I don't think I'll be restocking my vast array of acrylics when certain colors dwindle down. It'll be nice to know that I'll be able to simplify in this area in the future.
In case you missed it, I did a Periscope video last night (@lisacohen) about the art goodies I'm packing along with me as I travel to my daughter's dance convention this weekend. I won't have time to paint in the traditional manner as we'll be in a hotel room and convention center for most of the days we are are but I still want to be able to CREATE (yep, staying true to my one little word for the year). The video is up for 24 hours so there's still time to check it out. Hope you enjoy!
